my best friend's wedding

Fullerton has this great farmer's market Thursday afternoons/evenings with a splash pad, food, jump house for the kids, and my favorite, amazing locally-grown fruit and veggies. He's not a huge fan of splash pads yet, I think he's scared of the water (skay-yee). But he likes hanging out with his little buddies, trying to push me out of the stroller so he can push it around, and eating snacks.

Geri, Sarah and I went to lunch aaaaand stopped by Krispy Kreme for some free doughnuts for National Doughnut Day. We're party people.
If I'm on my phone, he comes up and tries to wiggle into my lap, point to my phone and pat on his chest and say "Pah-kuh Pak-kuh!" He wants me to flip the camera so he can watch himself make faces: here he was opening and closing his mouth while giggling.
I finally gave up on fighting him. And then I just didn't care and he was the happiest little boy.
Bonfire at the beach was in order, so a few of us met down there and happened upon the biggest high school party at the beach ever. Every single pit was taken from Newport--Huntington. We let the kids celebrate the beginning of summer and hung out at the park at Balboa and meandered our ways down Balboa Pier for some burgers and fries and Ruby's. In my burger-and-fries-loving opinion, they're definitely up there as one of my favorites.

Parker prefers the man's manmeat, ribs.

One day he was walking, bent over, put his head on the ground, rolled over and did a summersault. His little buddy, Cash, was over so they both started putting their heads to the ground and clumsily rolling over and into each other. "Cash funny! Parker funny!"

Parker woke us up super early on Steve's day off (7am is early for us, OK?) so he could wear his 'gasses'. They stayed on during breakfast and everything.

Ashley has been one of my best friends for years and years and I got to hop on a plane a couple weeks ago and see her get married! We were roomies and have been through so many boys, late nights and early mornings, nurse probs, roadtrips, family issues, tears and heartbreak, etc. Love her.

The night before her wedding we went to dinner and Lindsey pointed out the drink menu to me! Favorite drink menu ever!

Lindsey was also a roomie, and Brooke and Kris lived a couple doors down. Again, the five of us have  made some crazy awesome memories.

My favorite...

It was amazing being there for the sealing ceremony, for someone you love so much! As we were leaving the room and after I had just congratulated her, I lost it! I think I blame it on the hormones....
She looked beautiful and it was so much fun to all be together again.

Steve's mom watched Parker that morning but I picked him up for the reception so he could meet everyone. He was quite the little flirt, especially when snow cones were involved.

Love this girl too, Lindsey. She just had the cutest little baby man, Jack. Can't wait to have playdates with these two when we're living in Utah this winter.

So one thing we've learned about Parker is that he gets a little crazy when he travels. He needs his schedule or else it makes it even worse, which is always hard to do when meshing several different people's (and sometimes other baby's) schedules. The first morning, he woke up at 5am and wouldn't go back to sleep. So that was lame. The next morning, he was up at 3:30am and decided he was up for the day and nothing was going to change his little mind. So at 7am I threw on some clothes and we decided to head to the DMV to get my license renewed (it didn't work, and the lady was extremely rude to me after Parker let out a high-pitched yell as we were talking....I left the place in tears). I felt breakfast was necessary to give us sustenance and chill us out. I sent this to Steve and filled him in on our eventful morning. Needless to say, we were both grateful to get home to Daddy. We love him :)

  2. Loved catching up on your blog just now. That's so fun that your kids will both have multiple cousins close to their age! I can't wait to see what a cute little girl you will surely have.
