These are the optometry wives in our year, we all went out last week because Geri's leaving soon and we all just love each other. We ate at El Cholo in La Habra (sooo good), I tried horchata (watery cinnamony milk. um nothankyou), got cupcakes and macaroons, almost got ran over by a psycho driver (we have really awful driving experiences together), talked about dating, marriage, pie shakes, shed a tear or two, and called it a night.
The next day, Carly and I went down to the LA fabric district. LA has blocks and blocks and blocks of fabric, clothes, jewelry, shoes (and food trucks of course!) for CHEAP. We got a bunch of jersey knit to make maxi skirts for $2/yard. SCORE! We didn't make the ones we wore, but we got similar fabric and some solids, so exicted for our $3 skirts! We had a sewing party the other night and three of us worked like a factory measuring, cutting, sewing, trying on all of our skirts and made 5 in 2ish hours!
We need one more night to finish the rest of them.
So incase you see me in nothing but maxi skirts this summer, that would be why.
Little P busting out some Sunday hymns. And eating the piano, naturally.
Our Bachelorette party treats' sophistication level keeps escalating...
Parker's been eating less and less bottles and more and more food.
I've never fed a toddler before, so this has been a new challenge! We do all sorts of fruit, beans, cheerios, bread, pasta, peas, corn, and I'm sure some other things I can't think of...I got some good ideas from some friends on some other things I can try, so it's an adventure every day! One day he'll love something, then the next day he throws it off his chair. This was his first time with spaghetti and he LOVED it! The next day he whined and whined and sloshed it around on the tray. Argh!
Steve and I are thinking that we want to give him a milk-alternative, like almond milk or coconut milk or something, do any of you have any thoughts on that???
My sister texted me today and told me to dress Parker up and get free food and Chick-fil-A.
Um, OK! I've always loved getting dressed up (love Halloween), dressing up a cute little bebe is ten times as fun, and free food is amazing! A couple friends went with and I'd say we had ourselves the cutest little herd of cows around!
No, he's not a bloodied cow, he just likes to smoosh strawberries all over himself!
Cutest. Cow. Ever.
It is so crazy how fast he is growing. He is FINALLY army crawling all over the place, especially when the laptop comes out on the floor. His favorite toys right now are any type of balls, and we're pretty sure that's been his first word! We started trying to reinforce "ball" every time he was playing with one, and one day he started saying "bah!" whenever the ball would come out. We'd pull it out, and show it to him, he'd say "bah!" AHHH!!! So fun!!! He says 'mamamama' (and 'nanananana') and 'dadada' but I'm not sure he knows those are us...Steve is convinced he does, but he says them all the time so I'm still doubtful. He is still not pulling himself up or cruising or walking or anything else most kids are doing by now, but that's ok. He makes up for it with his smiles :)
Or here, with his snorting and tooting!
This was a month or so ago, he FINALLY got down that pincer grasp and has made feeding himself a breeze!
This one is kind-of long, nothing amazing, just him playing around.
Laundry baskets are also one of his favorite toys!
Also a while ago, some intense conversations...
We're in love.
i LOVE his little asian-eyes smile!
