We've done a lot lately, I apologize for blowing up Instagram!
I think we're finally mellowing out for the next lil bit. Boring's good every now and then...
My girls and I have been convening Monday nights for a little Bachelor fest complete with air-popped popcorn and Italian sodas. Finale night was no different: There was booing at the TV, cartoon character comparisons, changes of heart, and lots of giggling. Mindless entertainment at it's finest.
That day, Steve's mom and sister came into town to visit. Throughout the week, we hit up Santa Monica Pier and sent P on his first big boy ride, the ferris wheel!
He hated it.
It was windy, cold, and he being hungry didn't help...poor guy. We'll keep trying until he likes it!
Lori and I did the roller coaster, screamed the whole time...
SO much so as to warrant the guy giving us a freebie ride! Woohoo!
Ate at Bubba Gump's
Walked around on the pier
(with all the rides, trapeze lessons, funnel cakes, I left my heart in Santa Monica...)
and ran into KEVIN SORBO!
Don't know who that is?
Yeah, I barely did either.
Apparently he played Hercules in the TV show and played the dad in Soul Surfer.
They were filming some new movie and Lori and I are DEFINITELY extras in the background, walking by TWICE. BAM!
Celeb status.
We also played tourists and went down to Hollywood and did one of those cheesy tour of the stars, complete with open-top bus and narration through the headsets!
Shrek star top left, Hollywood sign with Grandma Anderson and Aunt Lori top right, Ringo Star's front gate lined with stars atop, and set-up for the 21 Jump Street premier. They actually block off Hollywood Boulevard and set up the red carpet in the middle of the street! Crazy!
Ashley stopped by on her way out to THAILAND!
Ash, you better bring me back some good grub...
Thanks for stopping in to see me, I miss you and love you!!!
Saturday we fulfilled one of Steve's lifelong dreams, checked at item off of his Bucket List, and experienced a roller coaster of emotions! We had tickets to the Indian Wells tennis tournament semi-finals. All week, we were checking in on who was winning the matches, HOPING Federer was going to make it. He had the toughest match-ups leading the finals, but he made it the semi-finals. He was set up to play NADAL, another favorite! Djokovic and Isner were also set to play, another awesome match.
We checked in on our bud, Rafa practicing on the practice courts before the Isner/Djokovic match
Got settled in our seats, surrounded by fellow tennis fans...so much fun.
Isner/Djokovic match was IN-TENSE!!! About had a heart attack, but in the end, Isner won!
There was this group of Serbians sitting close to us that between points would hold up a couple flags and sing some song in whatever language it is that they speak over there (Serbian??).
Come on people, Go America!
He looks so much taller in person, it's incredible how long his legs are.
Steve was betting me that I'm shorter than his legs
So there may or may not have been a 60-90% chance of rain all day that one second after Isner won the first match turned into a 100% chance and a 3 hour rain delay. Steve was convinced he wasn't going to see Federer play. He was a sad, sad little boy.
After much soul-searching, Steve finally found it in him to believe the rain would clear and the court would dry. Three hours later, we were back in service. It was FREEZING (for California)
Fed serving
Nadal doing what he does best
Steve and his cute little sign Lori and I made. Such a happy boy :)
It was such an amazing experience and being there with Steve was such a blast. We owe a huge thanks to Steve's mom and sister for watching P so we wouldn't get kicked out for a loud baby, and also to my good friend Eli's grandma for letting us stay in her awesome condo that was right across the street.
Thank you girls for coming out to see us! It was such a pleasure!!!
