I want to remember these mornings forever! Sometimes in the mornings he wakes me up by yelling out to me from his room, others I wake up (around 9:30) and go in there and he's either still passed out or is chillin, sucking on his fingers. Then I bring him back to bed with me and we shnuggle and talk. He is so chill first thing in the morning (for the last time of the day) I LOVE it! I just want to eat him up (I think I've said that multiple times on this blog. Please don't mistake me for a weirdo).
Steve's first lesson for little P$: When Sports Center is on, 'aint NOTHIN gettin done!
He was in the middle of feeding him but Parker kept flipping his head upside down to watch the game
This was the first time we had ever heard him scream this loud! We were dying
We took some quickie shots of the family because we're a family and we love each other and stuff.
And because Grandma wanted one.
Then took some cute Christmasy ones using the mistletoe that our friend, Geri, used to hit on her husband for their Christmas shots. Genius I tell you...
Love him to pieces. Shucks, both of them.
This crazy child of ours is all about the spitting with gusto these days. He does it for fun when he's happy but mostly when he's not getting his way and he's sad and cursing baby curses at us in his little mind. (This was at NYPD Pizzeria in downtown Fullerton. Best. Pizza. Ofmylife. Hands down. I ate four large New York style slices and could have had another)
Tried out royal icing for the first time with these Star of Bethlehem cookies for my little primary girls.
A couple weeks ago, we had a lesson on fasting.
Have you ever tried teaching the concept of fasting to a 5-year-old?
Me: "Do you girls know what it means to fast?"
Girl: "Sometimes when you're driving and you're going really fast you can hit another car."
Me: (Attempting to stifle laughter. Stifle. Stifle) "Yes, good, that is one meaning of the word fast! But it can mean something else too! Here it actually is when you choose to go without eating or drinking for a meal or two."
Girls (with disgusted and confused looks on their faces): ". . . . ."
Girls: "Why would you do that?!"
Yeah, you try explaining why we starving ourselves is a good thing!
Over the summer, Steve was out working on his motorcycle one evening and heard a boy yelling out on their balcony for help. This obviously concerned Steve so he started talking to him to see what the problem was. Turns out the boy's (11 or 12) mom was trying to make him stop playing his X-Box to do his homework. HEAVEN FORBID. Steve kinda joked with him and convinced him to quit with the lame games for the night (my sentiments exactly...although my husband does play with remote-control cars....ummmm). Eventually this led to a relationship with the boy's mother, Gina. She would talk to him about issues with her son occaionally and of course religion came up. Long story short, 6 months later, Steve baptized her this weekend and she was confirmed a member of our church today. It has been such a special experience praying for her and developing a friendship with her. I can't imagine being in her shoes (or any non-member's shoes) and choosing to learn about and accept the gospel piece by piece then having this amazing influence and feeling in your life after having nothing at all. Awesome.
oh my gosh that's so awesome! the first of many stories like that, i bet! way to go guys!
