Happy 5 Months Bubby! Coolest baby ever.
Your daddy and I are in love with you...we adore waking up to you (between 9 and 10 am...seriously, you rock kid) and starting our day out with your smiles. You light up whenever you see us, especially in the mirror. You are such a flirt. You flash anyone and anything that gives you any sort of attention your toothless smile, sometimes "goo" at them too!
You'd rolled over a handful of times from your belly to your back. Yesterday you were laying on your back under the Christmas tree talking to the lights....Daddy looked over and you were on your belly! So you've rolled once from back to your belly now too! Usually your arm gets stuck in the way, one day you'll figure it out and you'll be whipping that arm around like it 'aint no thang. You sit up like a champ in your bumbo chair for about 15 minutes then you let us know you're done.
We're getting you on a pretty regular schedule of taking a 1-hour(ish) nap after you've been up for 2 hours. I can usually put you down and you'll either go right to sleep or cry for a few minutes then suck on your fingers until you fall asleep. You take after Mommy and get super cranky if you haven't gotten your sleep. That's what Daddy says at least....
You're growing and eating like a hormonal teenage boy. You're not a fan of rice cereal so we've moved on to canned pears that Mommy pureed. We've been going at it for almost 2 weeks and you're just starting to get the hang of it. You usually still make the shocked and disgusted face like it's the first time you've ever tasted the stuff. No teeth yet, but I'm thinking they're close. You drool all up on everything and gnaw on anything that's placed near your mouth.
You DEFINITELY have found your voice and like to use it. You squeal like a little pig when you're happy, excited and when you're mad at us. You like quite a lot of attention. Sometimes you're pretty chill and can play on your own (watching/grabbing your feet and arms and hands), the rest of the time you need your toys and/or us. I have a feeling you're going to be a little spitfire, like your Daddy. You grab things but can't really hold a toy. You're gettin there though.
Eating the presents
Yay for spoons from Grandma Anderson!
We got him this toy that when you pull on it, it retracts and vibrates.
He was giggling when we were holding it up to his face. Oh and trying to shove it in his mouth.
Because that's what he does.
He also loved gnawing on his cute picture book from Grandma Anderson
After we found him rolled onto his belly. He was busy screaming and I was busy taking pictures. HA!
The other day we went on a family outing to the park to what the remote-control truck business Steve's been loving was about. Steve strapped Parker on, I was on picture duty and Parker loved the action. He watched every move that little truck made and was kicking and waving his arms and yelling at it.
(I don't know why these pictures are faded on Blogger?)
Launched it off the hill
Ummmm fixing the axle or whatever it is that's on the bottom of those things...?
Parquito staring the foreign thing down
(he kept sticking his tongue out and eating the Bjorn front)
Launching the thing over the little creek
My boys
Another Christmas break project for the man...painted this clear truck shell.
I thought it turned out pretty sweet!
Go Cougs!
We hit up Disneyland where Parker flirted his way into a churro (OK churro crumbs).
He LOVED looking around everywhere at all the lights and noises and again, with the kicking and flailing of arms and legs all about and rotating of the feet every which direction while a stream of drool steadily glides out of his mouth.
Mickey ears. Booyeah.
Christmas Eve Eve Eve at the beach with Kents and Partridges...why not?
We leave for Texas Saturday...wish us luck with Parquito's first LAX adventure :)
you guys are such a beautiful little family. Love your baby nicknames lol!
