Mid-life Mid-life and Then Some

Last weekend Steve turned 26!!! Happy Birthday again babycakes!!!
Several weeks approaching his birthday we had several conversations that went as such:
me: "Hey what do you want to do for your birthday?!"
him: "Hmmmm.....Let me think about it..."
(1 week later)
me: "Hey any ideas yet for your birthday??"
him: "Hmmm....not sure. What do I like to do?"
me: "Well we could do blah or bleh or we could go blah blah blahing....?"
him: "Ehhh, don't really wanna spend money on those...."
(1 week later later)
me: "Hey thought of anything? Want to do blepity blah?"
him: "Mmmmm no....let me think about it."
(the night before his birthday, we're sitting on the couch, he turns to me and says...)
him: "Hey. I want you to make me breakfast, watch tennis all day, have Chipotle for lunch at a park or something with you, watch more tennis, then Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner."
me: "ummmm OK!"
So that's what we did. Plus we threw in a little men's softball game.
I cheered extra loud for the birthday boy and he kicked some exceptionally large amount of trash :)
My friend (and fellow Dallas originator) posted this on her blog a few days ago.
I had to repost it.
Found this gem on my iPhone.
Taken while out with my cousins and her 4 boys down in San Clemente on a Sunday afternoon.
Love love love.
Instant high.
 Hi. I'm Stephanie. And I'm a slurpeeholic.
Oooh and watermelonholic. I CANNOT get enough.
I make Steve cut me some every day. I hate cutting watermelon, too much effort is required.
Not a big fan of effort these days.
Came home from work the other day to find this gem set up by the future father of my future children. Tender right?! It got REALLY REAL that a real-live kid is coming in 6 weeks that'll be laying there in that very crib, eyes wide open staring at us, needing us, crying at 3am. Whew!
We're sharing a bedroom so no nursery cuteness decorating has been done.
Don't judge. I've already accepted that I don't get a cute nursery at this point.
Last night we got to finally meet up with our friends that are here for the summer, the Florences. We met up at Cheesecake Factory...3 hours later called it a night!
Back in Utah, we did practically everything together. Game nights, dinners out, bon-fires, movies, holidays, and lots of late nights talking and laughing until we cried. Oh yeah, and a cruise last summer with them and some of our other favorite couple friends! Oh, to be young and careless again :)
We love you guys!
So I was burning up at dinner (thank you hormones, extra body inside my uterus and extra blood volume), we get outside and I'm cold so I'm hanging on to Steve as we're walking to our car. We get in the car, I'm burning up again, so I turn on the AC full blast (Lo). Apparently, that's a little absurd when it's 59 degrees out so Steve turns on his heat full blast (High).
Let's just say Steve would have been a popsicle if we didn't have dual-control air.
I'm 34 weeks. Thursday I have another ultrasound to find out what's going on with homeboy.
6 more weeks to go! I could go for 5....

  1. Haha! Dual climate control is a complete necessity! We're not having a baby, but it saves us everyday! Except for it's the opposite way with us, Sean's is on low AC and mine is on full heat...haha! We went with Janene, Aaron, and company to Aaron's grandparent's Lakehouse this weekend and it was so much fun! It seemed like you and Steve totally should have been there! :(
