Do y'all know what beignets are?
Neither did I until I had them...preeeeetty much on the beach. It was quite the sublime experience.
Deep-fried, chocolate, and vanilla bean ice cream.
The only thing that would have made them better was Bluebell vanilla bean...I'm currently drooling...
My work friend Erica and I went for massages and facials (prenatal for me...a little slice of heaven, and yes I had a groupon). Afterwards we lounged around the spa in our bathrobes while eating Hershey's chocolate nuggets. I don't think I'd felt as relaxed and serene as I did then during the last 8 1/2 months.
Then we went to Beachcombers restaurant (literally on the beach) for lunch and said beignets.
She's so sweet, love her.
Steve and I are trying to check some things off of our bucket list before baby A. comes...so we went to check out the LA temple (let me just say that when we moved here, Steve didn't think an LA temple existed. He thought I was lying...tee-hee!)
Of course it was beautiful, the decor and furnishings were definitely old-fashioned. The brand new Draper temple in Utah is so modern it kinda threw me off. Even Salt Lake has had more renovations it seemed. Mt. Timp, Dallas, Houston and Newport are all just newer. I don't really remember St. George.
LA is definitely HUGE though. HA-YUGE! Wonderful to go as always, especially with a little one growing inside of me right now :) It was fun to talk about where his little spirit is and what it's doing.
Last week had a 34-week ultrasound. Homeboy's all normal so far, 5.1 pounds, and head-down. Score.

I made another blanket! The stitching is again, not up for show, but whatever, it's done!
Steve's loving his time off from school and newfound temporary freedom. He sleeps in until 10ish, plays games on his phone in bed for an hour or two, works on his toy trucks, watches tennis if on, looks online for truck parts to buy and resell, and thinks of other ways to make money. He literally just turned to me with another grandiose idea haha....love that kid.
That blanket is awesome!
ReplyDeletehaha phil buys and sells x-boxes/controllers/games online all the time now and is actually doing pretty good at it!! but i still can't wait til he gets back to work for real :)
