1 year ago, Steve and I met at the Salt Lake Temple to get hitched. The day was perfect: Perfect weather, perfect hair, perfect timing, perfect friends and family in attendance, perfect ceremony and reception, perfect hotel (The Grand America: stunning), perfect couple (for each other, not individually!)...we felt so lucky.

So, needless to say, a celebration was due this weekend! Steve schemed it all out, and he did an incredible job. He's such a thoughtful husband!
First we headed to Kneaders in sweats for their sugary and highly-caloric french toast with homemade syrup, strawberries and cream. Delish.
Next, Steve knew that I had wanted to do the snow tubing in Park City where they take you up this hill on a tube-lift then you get to tube down the ice hill super fast. For any of you that know Steve, you know the afternoon consisted of Steve thinking of all the different ways he could lunge his tube at my feet (from behind so I didn't see it coming half the time) and knock me on my bum while he laughed (OK I was laughing too), him spinning me around while I was on my tube, snowball fights, SUCH a blast! And of course we spent some cash at the Outlets :)
Then we drove to our hotel, a sweet The Bachelor-style suite, got ready and headed to dinner at The Roof...I WANTED TO CRY! There was this little "Happy Anniversary" card and a rose waiting for us at our table that was directly in front of the SLC Temple. As we sat down, Steve handed me the rose and asked if "I would accept this rose"....oh I love him...Toward the end of dinner, this couple came over and congratulated us, told us that their respective husband and wife had each died within the last few years after they had all been really good friends. Then they tell us to cherish it while we have it and this is only the first of many memories together. I totally lost it. Right there, during dinner. Steve leans over and says, "Now don't take this the wrong way, but I really don't understand why you're crying. Can you tell me?" Haha...
So we get back to the hotel, and there's roses on the door, rose petals all over, etc etc etc. (thank you Florences) I START CRYING AGAIN!!!! What's your deal Steph, you ask? I'm at a loss...I have no answer! Needless to say, he did an amazing job and we had an amazing time and the last year of our life has been the best ever. You're my little bestie!
Happy Anniversary! Way to go Steve on all the planning!

ReplyDeleteWoot woot Stephface!! I couldn't be happier with the guy you picked to love and give your heart away to. Except when he throws around fat jokes. Anyways, I love the crap out of you and will miss your guts when we move away from each other. I'm not gonna lie...adding a reason to go visit you at the beach kind of makes me happy : )
ReplyDeleteCongratulations!!! What a perfect anniversary! You two are so stinkin' cute it kills me, I love it! Congrats again!!
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary. What a fun way to celebrate. Live it up at the snow while you can. So what kind of cousin party was it? Whatever the case, sounds like a blast (Packard style). Just another reason I love living near family.
ReplyDeleteWhat an amazing anniversary! I totally want to cry when Kory does sweet things for me too. Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteSeriously?! It's been a year?! Anyway, I don't know Steve, but I love him!! That made me say "awwww" out loud when I read what he said about you crying at dinner. Too too sweet. I love the tough hubbies that are total softies to the wifeys. Love it.
