My baby boy's first day of primary. He cried for me to stay, so I took a mini-people seat next to him and held his hand as he nestled in next to me. I secretly wouldn't have had it any other way. He still asks to go to nursery every week, but after we pick him up he has nothing but awesome things to say about primary. He's in there with his buddies Jake, Mason, Ben, and Bear.
1-year appointment! Moved up from 5th percentile to 10th. Get it girl. Switched to almond milk without a second thought, has started waking up during the night a lot more, toddling around like a pro.
First time my HR went above 100 (on purpose) in 3 years. Steve was baffled at how little weight I could do, which his surprising because half the time I can't open a water bottle without making him do it for me and the other half of the time he's blown away that I moved a piece of furniture while he was gone. I call it scrappy. Time to get healthy or whatever. We've got Hawaii in 4 months! This is why we got a king-size bed. Love Steve's one day off a week!
She is obsessed with these exercise bands. She grabs them, puts them around her neck, and waddles around the house as proud as can be.
We thought we'd go to the pet store and let the kids play with some cute puppies, perhaps get Parker over his absolute horror of dogs. Lyla liked the little guy and squealed and screeched until it got a little lick-happy. Parker's still horrified, obvi.
"brrrrrr mmmmmmmmm pssshhhhhhh brrrmmmmmmmmm"
It's fun to realize you're a grown-up and you can pack up to go get doughnuts whenevertheheck you want. Take that, awful 0630 wakeup call third day in a row (it was the baby's fault).
Super Bowl playoffs prep with Janene and Aaron, Spencer, and Becky and Sean! Always up for good food.
Not all of us can be tan, have muscles, and be a Body Pump instructor, OK?! Janene rocked her first class. Get it girl! So proud of her! It was like my second workout in 3 years, lets just say I went reaaally easy on the weights.
Dave and Katie have been talking about moving down here for years, and now that we're finally here, it's a real possibility! Dave had a work-trip down in San Antonio, so they decided to make a family trip out of it. Katie and the boys got in first, the boys played, ate some dinner, and Katie and I went to Janene's second class then got tacos after. Chicago is seriously lacking good Mexican food, I can't even imagine. Dave got in the next day, and it was absolutely unseasonably warm, like 80 degrees. We went to the park and chased after the 5 kids. The next day we went back down to Dallas. At first we said no water. OK fine, roll up the jeans and just wet 'yer toes. Oh you'd like to bathe in the splash park in January? No problem. Have a hot dog while you're at it. Love these boys.
Heard Museum, the boys (except Parker) really dug the animatronic dinosaurs. He was terrified.
Lyla was not. At all. She stared at that thing for a minute straight.
Steve sure loves that guy.
Riding the 100-year-old trolley down to Dallas, these boys thought it was the coolest thing! Just like Daniel Tiger's trolley.
Her current favorite trick is patting my back with her teeny hands when I pick her up. Like "Good job, Mom. You gave me what I wanted. Veeerrrrrry gooooood, Mom."
"Lyla you can't get near the poopoo! Get away!" He's very private about his private business.
Mealtime wars again. We brought out the cookies and told him he could have them when he finished his food. He still wasn't eating, so I started to eat a cookie. "HEY! Put the cookie down!"
I have a feeling this bunny will be around for a long time. "Baba!"
