"Egg!" (i.e. Easters)

Parker has eggs most mornings for breakfast. And frozen waffles. And oatmeal. And strawberries.
And whatever I'm eating.
He wakes up, and usually the first words out of his mouth are 'egg!' followed by 'momoe!'. The kid wants to eat his breakfast in front of his show. He asks so nicely, how can I say no?!
I feel like this is a bad start....
So to make things less confusing and more, super-awesome, I found these Elmo eggs and snatched them right up. He ran around and found a grand total of 3 Elmo eggs full of all sorts of candy he's never put in his mouth before. Best. Day. Ever.
Did you know it's really difficult to take a picture of a kid all hyped up, running around while  bouncing up and down? This is why we have blurry pictures. It's OK, it paints the emotion of the scene, yeah?
It was such a thrill to see him so giddy.
Starting to understand why parents love holidays as much as the kids.
Mwuahahahahahahaha!

We then snatched all his goodies away and got dressed for church while crossing our fingers he'd forget about all that loot he'd just gathered...
Easter Sunday is always perfect. He has risen, and I know that He lives today.

Later that day, Geri and I planned a little Easter dinner with our friends here at the BBQ pit of our complex. All sorts of Eastery food and conversation, and of course an egg hunt for all the littles.

His strategy was to get an egg, squeeze it open, spill all the candy all over the ground, try to pick it all up one by one and eat it off the ground allllll before going to the next egg.
This is why he ended up with 5 eggs and all the other kids had 20.
It's cool Parker, that's how the Andersons roll...we don't need no 'stinkin eggs.
We just need to match shirts. That, my friends, is the key to happiness.

  1. So glad to see Easter get togethers are still happening at the pit. Oh how we miss them!
