march = meh

I'm feeling very meh about this month thus far. And that's me trying to be super-dee-duper positive about it. Steve is finally done with boards! YAY! He studied for about a month straight, plus another month of intermittent studying. And when I say month straight, I mean until midnight daily, and we saw him for 1-2 hours a day for his meal breaks. He was stressed to the max, sick on and off, but finally completed the two 7-hour days of 500-question testing. We'll find out by May 8.
That's a lot of alone time with a toddler that gets bored very easily, and was sick on and off. Then Steve had the kidney stones, a 24-hour flu two days before boards, a couple days ago had (free) LASIK (PRK) surgery, all for which he has needed me to take care of him and been out of commission for everything. And that doesn't include said 5-week study hiatus and all of the emotional and mental distress and needed support that accompanies that.
The medical bills for all of his sickiness have started to come, I haven't been getting my hours at work, we didn't get a lower interest rate student loan we were banking on I think in part because my previous 800+ credit score is now much lower (in error) due to a couple of recently discovered collections debts that have mysteriously appeared on my credit report that aren't mine (in the process of disputing those).
There is more to this sad, little month of mine, but I'll spare you the details.
We are all just stretched beyond our capacities around here, and Monday (our overnight anniversary date and no more boards celebration!) could not come soon enough. For both of us.
 A local dental office was doing exam, x-ray, and cleanings for $1. We don't have dental insurance so know we were all over that. Apparently I had an old filling that had popped out (didn't know I had a filling?) and the beginnings of a cavity so we got that fixed. Steve has one little one that's on two teeth so they want to charge us for two? Not sure how that works, but we'll see....
 Bachelor finale with my girls
He still loves momoe, and has recently started watching shows. I bought a DVD, and the new-found entertainment is pure bliss. I try to not turn it on all of the time, but when I need it, it's brilliant. He's learning the songs and and he throws out the occasional lyric, claps when they clap, stomp when they stomp, it's cute. He also loves cookie monster in a book that we have and growls 'cuh-cuh' whenever he sees cookie monster. I need to get him a little doll....

Went on a date to The Boiling Crab. Those shrampy shramp came with eyes, tentacles, the whole shabang. That stuff was fresh, sweet, and amazing. Best shrimp I've ever had.

 He had a little somethin somethin in his teeth...
 The next day, Steve came down with body aches, nausea, a fever, and headache. He was freaking out because he felt horrible and had boards in two days. Some buddies came over and gave him a blessing, and the next morning we let him sleep while my little leprechaun and I headed to church.

 The blessing must have worked, because later that day, we had dinner at Jason and Geri's and I left Steve behind for a couple hours of fantasy football and basketball. I think he got spanked (contrary to this picture). Geri posted this after he had been gone a while. He did come home and I think the meds wore off because some of his symptoms came back, but he was fine the next day. Cure for the mini flu?
 Sean Lowe was supposed to be on Extra at The Grove for an interview so Geri, P and I packed up and headed down for a little date with Mr. Lowe but our dreams were crushed. Instead we lusted after all things Anthro and ate our way through the cutest Farmer's Market.

 Pushing the cart, stroller, and this plastic tricycle thing he has probably rank the highest on Parker's list of most awesomest things to do. Ever.
He will throw tantrums if you don't let him do so.
Just sayin'.

  1. Mark had the prk surgery done a week after my c-section with Ian and his jaw was still wired shut from his jaw surgery. I could have killed him for doing that to me! I feel your pain! Hope next month is a better one for you!
