tires and such

So we rent about 40 sq. ft. of outside space (i.e. our apartment patio) that Parker has to play in. (That number is probably wildly skewed, I'm so bad at guesstimating distances and lengths. Steve would probably laugh at that number, and it's probably totally off). At first, Steve was hesitant to let him go out there because he'd get dirty and there's spiders outside.
Um, he's a boy. Isn't that what boys do? Eat dirt and play with worms and all that manly stuff?
So when Daddy's not around, I open up the door and he goes in and out, Mogley-crawls around with his cute little bum in the air because he doesn't like his feet dragging on the cement (learn to walk kid and that problem would be solved! Just 'sayin....), and tinkers around with stuff. Especially if I'm out there trying to take pictures of food (because all mommies do that, right?). If I'm in the bathroom, he scurries back there and throws things around back there. If I'm in his room, he is sure to follow. Cleaning out the dishwasher or making dinner? You betcha he's in the kitchen annihilating the place. I rarely play piano solos anymore, it's mostly duets these days. Steve will come home at lunch and he can always tell what rooms we've spent time in.
My little shadow...
"Tah!" (tires) are his faves right now.
Thanksgiving weekend, some of my besties came into town for Kris' wedding. I just love them, and it was so fun hanging out and being girls together again. All of us have been through a lot together, and being around people that you have that familiarity and history with is just comforting.
We did a little shopping, got massages, dinner on the beach (Laguna, my favorite view), and came back home to a classic single-girls night of nails, sugar, and a movie.
The next morning, Kris got married! Steve and I just love her new husband, Canaan, and this was the first friend's sealing I'd been to in a really long time, so it was pretty special. Kris, you looked gorgeous!
(no, those are not my g's!)
Brooke, Karissa, and Ash (missed you Linds and Ilene)

Reception followed that night, Parker was a flirt with all of our friends and actually made one of our newlywed friends think about joining the kid club....I offered up a diaper-changing session to change their mind (that's one of the worst things you could ever do to Parker right now, the forbidden diaper change. I cringe thinking about it).
Diaper-changing tantrums aside, I still love my men <3
The other night, I came home at 11pm from Target to this. I yelled out to Steve (he was in the back) "Um, what happened?"
My thoughts were either one, Parker woke up and decided to play, or two, somebody broke in and fought Steve to the death (because I KNOW Steve would never let anyone mess with my decorative pillows).
Then I saw the truck on the couch, and it clicked. He replied, "Don't worry about it."
This beanie? You thought I'd leave it on?
Climbing before walking. Definitely our child.
Look ma! No rope!
(We had gone out to breakfast so yes, he's in his PJs. Wave your hands in the a-air if ya just don't ca-are!)
Merry Christmas to me! I had a cookware set from about 9 years ago that was still in good condition when we got married, so we didn't bother with new ones. A couple pieces are starting to fall apart, so I decided that this was the year! I'd been talking about it since last year, so Steve had spent forever researching the best set out there (for a decent price) and decided on these, but I ended up deciding we could do without. This year, I turned to him and told him that's what I wanted, so he knew just what to get. They came in the mail yesterday, and I must say, they are beautiful. Cuisinart Multi-clad Stainless Steel Pro set.....I just want to drool over them all day. I made Parker eggs this morning, and brought out my old pan because I just can't bring myself to dirty the new ones sitting on my stove!
Daddy took P to the park while I was at work.
Apparently he was obsessed with these things, happy little kid.
