Halloweenie

'Get that corn outta my face!' 'I hate all the orphans in the whole world.' '...and beneath the man, we find his...nucleus.' 'I wanna win!' 'Cooking duty, dead guy duty, maybe it's time for me to get a better duty!' 'Chanco, When you are a man, sometimes you wear stretchy pants in your room. It's for fun.' 'No no no no no no way Jose!' 'ooxxOxoXx.'
Name that movie. It's me and Steve's favorite.
'Nachoooooo!!!!!!'
Introducing, Nacho Libre, in the flesh.
The crying, miniature, way more cuddly flesh.
Note the sole tear resting on his cheek. He had just woken up from a nap, I rushed to get him ready, got to the school, and plopped him down with a bunch of other weird-looking kids and noisy adults jumping up and down making crazy faces. Insta-tears.
The school does a trick-or-treating day every year, see last year here. Students with kids bring them around to the different buildings and offices to show them off and get candy.
There was definitely some selective positioning of a certain Nacho's hand when reaching into bowls.
'Eyeing' (HA! Get it?) his new chocolate eye loot.

We carved pumpkins with some friends. P kept trying to pick up the pumpkin or bang on it while exclaiming 'bah!'. I'm sorry little guy, it's not a ball...
Later in the week, we had our church's party. I've always wanted to dress up creepy and scary, maybe a little gory. Steve has always refused and so we have stuck with the (in Steve's opinion) controversial Tiger Woods family, 80's hair band star and groupie, and Steve's idol, Rocky (IV mind you) and Adrienne.
This year, Steve declared he was not going to be dressing up, so I conceded. Day of our church activity, I was looking online and ran into lots of pictures of Dia de Los Muertos faces.
Ta-da!!!
By the end of the night, Parker was high on his first tootsie pop. My arms and his entire body were a hot sticky mess, but it was worth it.
Halloween! We got together with our friends and kids, took pictures, then headed out to this neighborhood that is all sorts of crazy about Halloween.
(Des, glad you get the crying kid Halloween picture this time. Serious, it's adorable.)
(And Aubs, thanks for the creepily-edited picture.)
P was pretty traumatized each time we spray-colored his hair and drew on a mustache.
It was a massacre of tears, and we couldn't do it to him again. So we threw on his PJs he's been wearing  all month and called it good.

This neighborhood was absolutely insane (not sure I'd do it again). People hanging out in front of their decorated houses dressed up scaring trick-or-treaters, kids lined up for candy, neighbors handing out hot cider, and a haunted house. The boys watched the kids while us girls went through the foggy maze of people jumping out scaring us. It was so fun!
We love SUGAR! He really didn't 'get it' yet. I think next year will be the year.
We came home and put the little skeleton to bed, plopped down on the couch with some gory movies and ate the perks of having a kid on Halloween.
