labor day week and such

Steve has a pretty big practical/check-off coming up in a couple weeks that consists of 13 different skills they have to perform......soooooo needless to say, starting this week we haven't seen much of him.   Lucky we got to squeeze in some good times before he got all crazy with the studying.
Parker was going after a car that he had launched under the table and got stuck. So funny watching him attempting to figure out how to get out of there! Daddy had to come to the rescue.
A couple weekends ago, a lot of the girls around here got together for some girl time, mostly for Alex...it's so nice to have such sweet and caring girls around, it's going to be hard to leave!
You can see my end of the table was the one that chose to pig out on desserts at the end.

I came home from work the other week to my baby with a busted lip and two bruises. First visible injuries ever!
Daddy had some explaining to do...
Here he was just whining about one thing or another, this was the day after his day of brutalities.
We set my girlfriend, Shanna, up with one of the single optometry students and took them climbing. They both love climbing so it was awesome! SOOO amazing to go again, I wish indoor climbing wasn't so expensive, I wish we had Provo Canyon 2 minutes away, and I wish my husband had all the free-time in the world to whisk me away every night. It was fabulous. I actually did a route that Steve didn't get on the first try :)
His arms were pretty dead by the time he tried, but STILL. It's a first, people!
At the end, Shanna and I race-climbed a really easy route as fast as we could, and the guys did it without feet...hands only...phew!
We then went to Bruxie for dinner and called it a night. I think it went well for them, but I'm just gonna say that I am SO glad those dating days are over. Love going home with my date at the end of the night and not having to worry about burger-breath...
 my little accompanist
The boys had Labor Day off so we told them we were going to brave the crowds and head to the beach. It was amazing! SO glad we went. We found parking spots right away and it was totally uncrowded. It was fabulous!
He's mine on the left. Yep, all mine.

The waves were crazy perfect for boogie boarding, but there was also a pretty strong ripcurrent.
Is that one word? I don't know these things. I'm from Texas.
So it was a battle to stay out there where we could catch the waves, but we caught tons and rode them all in! We were all sorts of Blue Crush out there.

Love.

Sometimes if he's up past his bedtime he gets a little deliriously nuts. He was bouncing all over the place like a maniac. I love it when he gets like that!
His favorite toys right now are trucks and cars, and of course balls.
Macaroni and cheese is one of his newest favorite things to shovel in his mouth.
That, and spanish rice, eggs, strawberries, quesadillas, cantaloup, oatmeal, carrots, and whatever I'm trying to eat. No matter what it is, he wants it. Even if he refused to eat it 5 minutes earlier, it is now the most desirable thing in the world because I'm eating it. Naturally.
My primary kids. Love these crazy guys. No, their face-painting was not a part of the lesson, they just did it all on their own.
Insta-smile whenever I pull down my mirror so he can see me :)
 Yep. That just happened.
Went to Hay Flo and Tay Flo's place to watch the first BYU game of the year! She had a delicious ribs meal waiting for us. We put Parker down and stayed up forever chatting and catching up. Love them!
BYU football makes me miss my days there, and our married years there...that time in our lives was so much fun, and easy, and carefree. Provo (and the Florences :) will always have a tender spot in our hearts!
Say hello to the newest members of Costco! We got a membership our first year here but hardly used it. Now we've got a man-child that wear diapers and goes through tons of almond milk, we eat gobs of produce and frozen fruit daily for Steve's smoothies, and I just want access to all the awesome foodstuffs they have dangit! It was an exciting night for the Anderson home.
That's how we do exciting these days. Eek.
When we got home, I was looking at this picture of Parker and Mickey and realized how much he loved that thing! I'm trying to convince Steve to get it for Christmas or something...
Check out my newest recipe on our foodblog, here.
