Running

I haven't been able to run for a week tomorrow.
Last time I checked, I was signed up for a 10k in two weeks and a half marathon in ten weeks.
I'm kinda freaking out here!
I'm new to this whole running thing, so I'm not sure how common this is or if I'm just prone to it, but it's really frustrating! Several months ago I had to stop running too because my sacroiliac joint (one of the joints in the back of my pelvis) had become misaligned and caused this sharp, jarring pain every time I landed on that left leg. I went to the chiropractor a couple times and got it fixed, then I was back on the road. This time, the front of my right leg is feeling the same way. It's totally misaligned and even walking feels like it's out of place, and bone is rubbing on bone in places it shouldn't. I've been to the chiropractor twice, it's slightly better, but we're not quite there yet.
That probably means another week of no running.
The chiro says to avoid even the elliptical.
Every day that goes by, I get more and more anxious that I'm not going to be able to run my races and I'm destroying any progress I had made.
Gah...help me!!!

  1. oh no!! This post makes me sad. I say take another week off. Don't rush into it. You still have time. And you won't lose everything. It may be hard your fist week back, but you'll bounce back. And if you do the 10-k. go slow! you don't wanna blow your half for a 10-k. I'm feeling like I'm "losing" everything too since I don't have time to run like I used to. i hate that feeling. Love ya!
