The Exciting Life of a Mom

The little one is sleeping right now, time to catch up. I got to go shopping the other day with some birthday money....ahhh I'm such an addict. It was like I was on a high all afternoon. I was having the time of my life. My heart racing each time I came across a new store to go in and when I found something that was cute, fit, AND was OK with the pricetag....HELLO!!!! SCORE!

Parker was a fabulous shopping date and flashed a bashful little smile at each adoring onlooker.

He discovered his fist a while ago but has recently figured out how to stick a couple fingers in his mouth and suck on them like a popsicle...you can hear him sucking away from the other room. No shame.

I'm OK with it though, it's adorable and it soothes him and knocks him out.

 Steve's been SOOOOOOPER busy with school, they've had tons of tests and now finals are wrapping up this week. He (and a couple of his buddies) all have bronchitis, the original sickie (MIKE!!!!) has had it for 2 months so far. They're all stressed and tired and sick and usually just resort to youtube videos for study breaks.

Parker's been kinda snotty and I was sick last week (of course I had to work during it too).

I'm starting to understand why wives of optometry/med/dental students usually say "we graduated"....

Well babycakes wanted an apple pie so I obliged and whipped one up. I'm not a fan of pies, esp apple ones...give me some chocolate covered and dipped in chocolate. 

Heck. Cover and dip me in chocolate and we'll call it a day.

 I apologize, this blog has been taken over by my child. I mean really though, he's a lot more interesting than what I had going on in my life before right?! Check out that bowtie! I'm dying here.

 I teach the 5-6-year-old girls. LOOOOOVE them. I want to eat them all up. That age group is hilarious. 

Me: "Do you girls know who this is? (pointing to a picture of Adam and Eve)

Me: "Yes Addi/Ruby/Madison/Kate/Mia/Kailyn"

Girl: "One time...at school.....this boy was being mean to this girl....but I didn't really like this girl....but I told him to be nice her anyway and he stopped."

One of the girls was playing with my hair and I asked her to stop and pay attention to the lesson
Girl: "But why? Your hair is so ugly, I could make it pretty!"

Another time one of the girls had brought a friend that was visiting her.

Me: "Ruby, tell me about your friend!"

Ruby: "This is Claire, she came to my house this week from Las Vegas"

Me: "Hi Claire! Are you guys friends? Cousins?"

Ruby: "We're friends"

Claire: "BEST friends!"

Ruby: "Well...not BEST friends. So-and-so is my best friend, So-and-so is my best church friend, So-and-so is my best school friend...."

HAHA. Love it. Randomest of random, love Jesus, Jesus is their best friend, they want to be at church every day...I mean really, does it get any better than that?!

 He likes his Bumbo for about 2 minutes. Then he's had it and squeals like a little pig. He's getting better at holding his head up! AAAAAAAND we were doing tummy time yesterday and I had him on his tummy (which he also usually hates after 1 minute and starts yelling at me) and I turned my head (of course) and as I turned it back he was finishing rolling onto his back.

SHUT. UP.

My baby rolled!!!! So of course I tried to get him to do it again but he just yelled and yelled at me until I flipped him back over to his back.

The other day he was sitting in his bouncy chair that has this one little pig with a little chick or something hanging from it (now that I think about it, that's kinda weird, and wrong) and I looked over and he was reaching out grabbing it!

SHUT. UP.

Since then he's grabbed it a couple more times and at a couple other things we've put in front of him. So cool to watch these new milestones! Most nights he sleeps from about 930 until 8ish. He's my favorite in the morning :)

 He's already falling asleep in church.

Moms: How the heck do you get your hair to quit shedding handfuls at a time?! It's sick, really.

I'm still running. I can't say I've gotten a runner's high quite yet but I definitely feel the urge to improve my miles/pace. This could turn into something....
So I'm definitely feeling Bachelor/Bachelorette withdrawals!!! Ready for the next season!
People think Kate Middleton is prego because she didn't want some PB?! SERIOUSLY?!

Cain's appearing more and more fishy every day.... Politics is full of liars and greedy little cheaters. I hate it. Why would anyone WANT to be President? That's my question.
The whole country ends up hating you by the end of your term and you probably can't pee without someone watching. I'm really not seeing the perks here.
An earthquake in Oklahoma? Seriously? Since when does Oklahoma/Texas get earthquakes?! This world is definitely coming to an end soon, that's all I'm saying. Over the past month or so we began our 72-hour kits. There is SO MUCH needed for those!
I'll die without an NBA season. Stern and Fisher better figure something out SOON!
We're going to Utah for one of my best friends' wedding after Thanksgiving, so excited!
