P-Money's Blessing Weekend

Happy Blessing Weekend little Parker!
Our families came out to celebrate the birth of my parents' first grandchild and Steve's parents' fiifth grandson. He coo'ed and goo'ed and grinned his little heart out and put on quite the show. He was soakin up all the cuddling and lovin he was getting....I think he sensed when everyone left because the next day he was kinda a little monster! That night I decided to start a 'bedtime routine' including a bath, little massage using that Johnson & Johnson bedtime lotion with lavender that's supposed to knock your kid out, cuddling and a feeding to make him realize it's bedtime. SURE ENOUGH the last 3 nights I've done that, he's slept 6-7 hours each night!
BOOYEAH.
OK back to last weekend...Auntie Janene showed up Friday night and little Parker decided to introduce himself to her by being Captain Screamo (our nickname for him when he's going crazy) in the car at the airport, so she got to feed him. Then he wanted them to get real nice and intimate so he peed and pooped allllll over her hahaha. She then got to give her first bath. This is all in the first hour...they, um, bonded :) And she got an exciting glimpse into her future 4 months away when she has her little Savannah Jane!
The next day, the rest of the brood showed up and Parker got to meet Grandpa Moon, Uncle Michael and Aunt Kayla. A little later, Steve's fam showed up and we plopped ourselves down to watch BYU's first game of the season. GO COUGS!

After the game, we headed down to Huntington Beach Pier to soak up the sweet sunset scene that is HB and chow down on some Ruby's burgers, fries and shakes over the ocean. My Dad was pretty upset that they actually listed the calorie count for everything...I think his meal was like 1400 calories haha

My sistahs, Janene and Kayla
The next day I got to bathe Parker and dress him in his little blessing outfit. As I was doing so, I realized this is one of those moments you always think about and anticipate and here I am, doing it! Getting my little guy ready for my husband to give him a name and a blessing, blessing him with everything the Lord wants for him. I love both of them so much...it was absolutely perfect.
Right before it was time to go up, I was forcing all the milk I could get in him so he'd be nice and milkdrunk for the congregation and not Captain Screamo haha. He was the perfect little baby and even kinda grinned for everyone at the end :)
The blanket was knitted by my Grandma and the booties by my Great-Grandma...LOVE THEM and we'll definitely be keeping them for all the little Parkers and Parkerettes waiting for us!

Monday was Labor Day so we partied like it! We drove down to San Diego to meet up a bunch of my cousins, aunts and uncles to beach it up, BBQ, and catch up. Definitely a different experience with a kid. I'M A MOM!!!! Still doesn't always soak in...
My Dad, brother and sister all got up on the surfboards despite the water being FU-REEZING!!! I've never felt it that cold before here! My cousins' kids are rockstars on the boards--paddleboards, skimboards, surfboards...we're talking like 8-year-olds here people.

We ended the day with a bonfire on the beach, starbursts and s'mores. Please and thank you.

Parker loves his bathtime. OK he gets this unsure-on-the-verge-of-losing-it look every time I first get him in the water, but then it turns to arms and legs flailing about every which direction, clenching his fists so I can barely clean his little hands, and sometimes a little grin. Oh and sometimes yellow water.........
His "I love Daddy" towel
I propped him up in the corner the other day, he wimpered for 2 seconds, then I came back to find him passed out...haha little wierdo!
Again with the milkdrunk
I internally debated with myself this morning, blue or orange?
I went with the blue :)

  4. Cute cute cute! I'm so bummed that we can't see him grow up--he's doing it so quickly! And i'll always hold those first few hours with him close to my heart. I think he was showing me some tough love.
