2 months

I have a 2-month-old! I'm practically a pro. Ask me anything.
HA!
Parker had his 2-month check-up last week which meant shots :(
At first Steve refused to go to the appointment with me (when I was trying to ask his school schedule) but then I made him. I'm so glad I did! The doctor was assessing him and at one point had him in the air and did something that I couldn't see but the little one did NOT like it because he was screaming and crying after that, like a sad hurt cry, not a fussy cry....like he knew the shots were coming!
So we're both trying to console the little one while at the same time process what the doc is saying and try to remember any and all questions we've had over the past two months.
Uhhh......mmmmm.....
"OK no questions? Alright the nurse will be in with the shots in a minute."
He had a 1 second delayed reaction, then let 'er rip. Each one brought on an enlightening version of the word "scream" :(
He was so so sad for the next half hour he was awake, I hated to see him like that.
Mommy may have shed a tear or two too.
But don't worry, the nurse in me definitely drugged him up prior to the office visit and for the following 24 hours. Drugs are your friend people.
A nap and said drugs later, we had our happy little boy back :) He did wake up more during the night and was a little cranky every now and then for the next day or so...but not too bad.
Height: 24 1/4 in (90th percentile)
Weight: 12 lb 9 oz (70th percentile)
Head: I can't remember, but it was in the 60th percentile

This was another day...a day where my hair hadn't been washed in a few days, no time for makeup, and rockin Steve's basketball shorts most likely from the prior day. But I don't care, I just want to remember these moments forever. I have a feeling I'm going to long for these when he's a foot taller than me and teasing me for wearing reading glasses and holding things a foot in front of me to see them...

This is his sad little pouty face. He actually puckers the lips and frowns more tightly than here but I didn't catch it. It is so stinkin cute, I melt every time he does it! He also froths at the mouth. Awesome.
Every now and then he'll find one of his hands and  try to suck on his wrist/side of his thumb area, or try to just shove a fist in his mouth to suck on it. If he's swaddled not very tightly and can get his hands up to his mouth under the blanket he'll suck on them through the blanket.
Most of the time he loves his binkie, other times he gags on it and acts like he forgot how to suck on it.
If he's half asleep and it falls out, I'll put it back in just to watch his eyes roll in the back of his head in ecstasy.
He also loves laying on his tummy on our laps. However, if one were to set him that way on the couch, he will cry like you are stabbing him with a knife until you pick him up.
He thinks the stationary toys on his bouncy chair or any light or our black frames on the wall are the most riveting things out there. He kicks, squeals, talks, smiles at those things as if he's having a full-blown conversation with them in his head. He probably is now that I think of it....don't worry, my kid's a genius, I promise.

He holds his head up most of the time. If you pull him up by his arms and his head is lagging behind, his chin will quiver as if he's trying to use every little muscle in his body to get his dang head up!
Most of the time he's kinda grumpy when he first wakes up...Daddy says just like Mommy. Then he realizes he is, in fact OK and is Mr. Smileypants again.

We went to the Angel's last Friday night game (with the fireworks) and got to use our Bjorn! Loved it. He was a little fussy in the beginning, especially every time the crowd yelled, boo'ed or clapped, but then he passed out in my arms for a while. Later when he was awake he got up and danced with me during the songs and LOVED it. Daddy didn't love it so much, but he just doesn't know our secret dance parties at home while he's gone...

Steve and I love the little guy so much, by far the coolest toy we've had yet!
