Alright so apparently, there is a fine line between "manly" and "girly". I think the carseat cover I made in my previous post is DARLING....but, Steve has, um, helped me to decide that it is, regrettably, too girly for our man-child. I believe his exact words were, "There's no way I'm taking my kid out in public in that thing." Booooo.....
(He did reinforce how adorable it is for a girl though and he would love it for a girl...just so I wouldn't cry)
So I'll either be keeping it the event we have a girl at some point (although the thought of having a girl seems foreign and absurd to me right now....wierd? I think yes.) or if any of you having a girl love it and want it, it's yours...maybe...I have to really really think you're hot stuff to give it away since I heart it so much.
I may just go cry now :(
ANYWAYS....I have more fabric on the way for a new, more masculine carseat canopy endeavor.
I'll post pics when it's done. Ummm hopefully in the next ten days....
These are some other projects I've finished:
burp cloths (cloth diapers with fabric sewn on)
and covers for these baskets for the changing table...now I just need a changing table...
don't judge the lines
I totally made them up as I went hehehe!
come to think of it, I haven't used a pattern for anything-oops!
cute stuff i need to get to making stuff like that! i love your car seat cover and i want to make covers for our changing table baskets i was going to ask for your pattern but maybe you can just give me some tips!!
ReplyDeletek well if you're making a new one here's my suggestion...make the color underneath a dark one. I didn't think about it till after, but mine is brown under and I was so grateful because it actually really helped. It could be bright out but not to her. You will soon see why she was in her cave for so many months...these covers are so sweet! We still use ours and she's 8 months old. In the next few weeks you'll have multiple such caves dotting the chapel. HA. Funny thought. There's your next sacrament mtg pic, I wan tot see it.
ReplyDeleteI think Steve is crazy-your car seat cover is adorable! He is lucky you're so accommodating of his issues:)
ReplyDeleteOkay, I totally and vehemently disagree about that carseat cover not being manly enough. I think it is perfectly acceptable for a boy, and who says that every single item of baby gear has to be super boyish or girly anyway? You are the one who will be lugging it around most of the time anyway, and you are a girl.
ReplyDeleteI love all the other stuff you made, too, ps.
