Last week I got to play the single prego-girl role, leave the hubby to his books and fly to the motherland,
TEXAS!!!
I thought I would be dying without my little boyfriend by my side, but really things were crazy busy and I got enough one-on-one time with my crazy sister, soon-to-be-first-time-grandma-mom and everybody else in my family and friends that it was kinda fun being "just me" again instead of "me and Steve".
Don't get me wrong, 5 days was PERFECT timing, I think I would have exploded on day 6 if I didn't get my babycakes back on the night of day 5. Literally.
Exploded prego woman=not pretty.
Dinner, movie, fro yo and the BYU game to reconnect was heaven :)
OK back to Tejas.
Steve dropped me off at the airport that morning, I cried a tad, and a million hours later met my mom at the DFDub airport--who had been a sneaky little liar to my dad for about a month AND who also cried when she saw my little prego belly. I thought I was going to be the one doing the crying!!! You see, my dad was turning the big 5-0, my main reason for flying out to surprise him.
So the fam gets sat for my dad's birthday dinner, then GUESS WHO comes out to deliver the goods...
TA-DAAAA!!!!
(my dad's surprised look #1)
Success.
Then, later on in the week, my mom, sister and I schemed a little surprise 5-0 shindig for family and some close friends. My dad's bishop of our home ward, so they NEEEEVER miss ward temple night. Friday night was that, and he was kinda bummed about going and missing doing something with all of us while we were in town. He even suggested skipping it...he's awful I know, but my mom convinced him that my siblings and I already had plans with our friends and cousins so they should just go ahead and go to the temple. They usually pick up some Taco Bueno (hehe) on the way to the temple, so we all gathered there. They walk in and BAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dad's surprised look #2
Success.
Happy 50th Dad!! Your head may look like it, but the rest of you is definitely in your 30s!!!
Cousins on the left Vance and Julianne, sister Janene and her hubby Aaron on the right
sister Kayla on the left, brother Spencer and his wife Brittany on the right
Uncle Del, Aunt Marlys and Kylie's precious little Preston on the left, cousins Kylie and Mike on the right
cousin Kathryn and brother Michael with the food coming out of his mouth on the left, brother Chris and Uncle Keith on the right
Back at home we played games and chowed down on Janene's turtle pecan cheesecake and my strawberry coconut cheesecake. Yeah they were good. Complete with sparkler 50 candles.
Blowing out the candles....
love my family
The rest of the week was filled with late night Taco Bueno runs with my sistahs
Ummmmm yes.....Bluebell ice cream. If you haven't had Bluebell before, just don't talk to me.
My JET!!!
La Madeleine with one of my best amigos from high school, Eli
and a baby shower my mom, sister, and another one of my best amigos from high school,
Jess threw for me
Thank you girls it was such a blast!!!!
My cousins, aunt, mom and sisters, who all helped with everything
Jess (who is also prego with her first little girl! I got her the cutest little outfit I'm dying over every time I walk by it a while back that I gotta send) and Janene
So all the ladies were given a little onesie and had to design something on it....some of them were hilarious....Janene's said "Someone In Texas Loves Me" on the front, and on the little bum it said
"Made In Cali"
Some of the awesome shower attendees...
I totally didn't get any pics with any of my friends that were there or everyone else from my ward and growing up, I was so busy talking to everyone and catching up!
After the night of mini-person gifts and and awwwwing and laughing, the Moon girls went home and this darling display of cupcakes Janene made
turned into THIS
I'm not gonna lie, I may or may not have started it.....
Guess what the "Y" on my face is??
(hint: Jimmer was playing that night and we were about to watch the Tivo'ed game)
