This is how I spent Friday. Alone. It was bliss. I like to go to the beach alone. Is that weird? I love zoning out, sleeping, pondering deep and meaningful things (OK not really), and just listening, smelling, and feeling the beach. It's kind of a sick addiction. But I'm OK with that.
So I've realized why women rub and hold their prego bellies! I always thought it was like a tender, sweet moment they were having either feeling their belly or feeling the baby, or thinking about how sweet, beautiful and accomplished their little darling would be one day.....
NO PEOPLE.
THIS IS NOT WHY.
They're thinking where the heck did this bulge come from and since when did my belly get so big!?!?
This is why they grunt when they roll off the couch or bed and why they moan when they go from sitting to standing. I'm seeing numbers on the scale I've never seen before. I'm cramping and if I laugh or sit up in bed or stretch the wrong way I get these sharp pains.
I tried a nice little jogging/brisk old person walk the other day and threw up when I got home.
I'VE BIKED A 9 MILE 1400 VERTICAL FEET CLIMB MOUNTAIN BIKE RACE AND GOT FIRST IN MY DIVISION 6 MONTHS AGO and now I can't jog for 3 minutes.
Steve won't let us go to Joshua Tree for this climbing trip we've been wanting to do.
It's just kinda frustrating to be limited by my body, which in the past has enabled me to have a blast doing the things I love and trying new things.
It's OK though. I wouldn't trade it for the world. Sigh.
HA. So Steve was teasing/poking/prodding me like he likes to do just to see my reactions and he poked my side. I quickly reprimanded him and reminded him that my tummy was off limits. He then informed me that he wasn't poking my tummy, but was poking my love handles.
Girls, what is wrong with this statement?!?!?!

Love it. I wish there were a "like" button for blogs, lol. I get those sharp pains too. Dr. says it's round ligament pain. Whatever it is, I hate it. Sometimes it knocks the air right outta my chest.
ReplyDeleteSorry you can't run anymore. I'm sure you'll be able to again in a few weeks. Until then, you'll have to spend all that time on the beach. Relaxation is very important to a growing baby, ya know. ;) lol
Haha! You are cute! I hope things start looking better for you with the pregnancy. Don't people usually get a second wind somewhere in the 2nd trimester...hopefully it comes soon!
ReplyDeleteNothing's wrong with that statement, Steph. Now you're a normal human being like the rest of us. Welcome to love handles!
ReplyDeleteAren't those sharp pains.......STRETCH MARKS IN THE MAKING??....:(
ReplyDeleteOk, you've got to admit that if you'd heard someone else say it to their wife, it would've been funny. I can understand that your body changes, but maybe just try running slower. I have to remind myself that even if it takes longer, it's still a workout which is better than nothin'. I'm so excited you're having a boy. They're awesome.
