Terrible, Horrible No-Good Very Bad Day

First, it was raining when I had to get up at 5:15, which means it rained on my hair this morning.
Not good.
Then, I had to go to my current job, which I hate.
Not good.
Third, I arrived at said hated job late because rain turns Cali drivers into scared baby pigeons on ice skates.
Not good.
Then of course, because of the lack of money the hospital has we don't have a secretary or nurse's aid so my job is doubled for the rest of the day.
Not good.
Fifth, I got fired from my new job at Hoag that I haven't even started yet.
Not good.
Next, the Alzheimer's/dementia patient is mine and she spends the day screaming bloody murder into the hallway, only for me to walk in, ask her what's wrong, and have her instantly smile, tell me how pretty I am, tell me she doesn't know what she needs, and ask if she should be doing something.
Repeat 3 minutes later. All day.
Not good.
Then, the frozen pizza we had for dinner tasted like stinky feet soaked in yellowing cottage cheese.
Not good.

Oh, how did I get fired from the job I haven't started yet? Oh. I'll tell you.
It all started a few months ago when I got a phone call from my current job after my background check asking about an apparent misdemeanor labeled "4 way stop"...the only thing I could think of was a traffic ticket I got at a stop sign in Provo last year. I explained, we were good.
I get another voicemail Thursday asking about a misdemeanor on my background check for Hoag (the new hospital). I call back, leave a message explaining what it must have been since it also appeared on the background check from Anaheim (my current job). I get a phone call today at work and the HR rep tells me she can't hire me.
"Seriously?"
"Yes, unfortunately, I'm just sick about it, and I've tried talked to our hospital attorney, and things are just black and white, cut and dry here. Since you answered 'no' to previous misdemeanors in your application, but then one showed up on the background check, we can't hire you."
[Insert me crying here]
"I understand but I had really just forgotten that was on there! A misdemeanor for a traffic ticket is so out there and I wasn't even thinking and I've never even had a misdemeanor before and I would have put it down if I had remembered but I didn't and I'm sorry and....."
"Your hiring manager is not going to be happy, but we really just can't. I'm so sorry sweetie. I wish we could still hire you. It's not the misdemeanor, it's the lack of continuity. From now on, you have to always always always remember to report that misdemeanor. I'm so so sorry."
[Insert me still crying here]
"Ok. Well thank you..."
"Good bye sweetie, and again, I'm so sorry."

Then I went back to work and dealt with crazy dementia lady all day.

Then I got in a carwreck and totaled the car on the way home, found out Steve had died, died a slow painful death, and lost all of my favorite clothes, shoes, and my new birthday charm necklace.
No, not really.
But I might as well have

  7. Sad times! I'm so sorry, I hate days like that. Funny what you said about your so called misdemeanor, because apparently Sean got one in Rexburg for riding on a scooter and getting a traffic ticket, so weird! Stupid college town cops!
