Homesick

Ok people we're here in the Golden State of California and we wish desperately we were back in the 2nd motherland (guess what's the first :). People are nice here...we even made a friend at the Starbucks we've been hitting up daily to use and abuse their free wi-fi, this guy named Will. He's an older guy who seemingly lives here at Starbucks and chats with strangers all day. He's endearing and I just love him. In fact, he just got here. Oh Will.
So we have cockroaches in our apartment, the wall unit for our AC (central air here is apparently for the wealthy) doesn't work, a wall in our apartment was painted red that was supposed to be white, the shower knob didn't work, the bathroom floor needed to be replaced, oh and Steve sprained/fractured/broke his ankle and is constantly uncomfortable and couldn't help move in or get unpacked and we've had to shell out our life savings to pay for X-rays, crutches, appointments, deal with idiot doctors, and we don't even get internet or cable until Saturday. And yes I'm complaining. Pictures and more details to come when we get internet and are connected to world again and don't feel like we're dying. Anway, back to fighting cockroaches....

  2. Oh no, and those cockroaches will never go away even if you do get the apartment sprayed.(I had 2 cockroach infested apts in the mission) You might have a chance if the neighbor(s) causing the problem move out and then they spray. I guess this will be something you two will laugh about years from now. Anyways, just be glad you don't have little kids who might want to eat them...

  5. The biggest most cockroaches I've ever seen were in TX...Where are you guys living?? Having moved quite a bit in our married life...give it 6 months. A place starts to feel like home after 6 months have acclimated me to all the changes. You guys should come play in San Diego!!

  6. Is it possible to have a second motherland? Roaches will never go away and each time your neighbor sprays their apartment, they will come visit you. Just make sure you never leave any food out. They will even eat the grease that splatters on your stovetop. Sick. And we haven't talked in like 8 years so I'm mad at you :( Call me!!!
