When The Family Gets Together....

My mom's family is crazy. Crazy in a happy, loud, obnoxious, spitfire kinda way. Most of my mom's 11 siblings all have VERY bold personalities, then each of those had an average of 5 kids or so, then a lot of those have married and had their own kids....family reunions are Ku-RAZY! But I love it. Almost makes me want 12 kids. But then I woke up...
cute Grandpa with my bro
The Amazing Race game (my bro jumping the rope, Steve tossing my little cousin over it)
Family Feud (my mom as mediator)
arm-wrestling
prego cousin limbo-ing
Win It In A Minute games (my mini-me sister)
explaining who everyone is, how they're related, who to avoid (ha jk people! love you!), etc..

in honor of World Cup games going on that week
(yeah that's me! who wouldda thought!?!)
skits (some of my crazy aunts)
Fear Factor (my bro eating worms mmmmmm)
my cute grandparents--he accessorizes like that every day
my mama
my aunts and uncles
and SOME of the grandkids and their spouses--I counted, and I think there's about 43 missing
Gotta love it!
Ended the reunion on a sweet note. My aunt Rachel sings with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and was being set apart that night before their practice (it's a calling, who knew?). Several years ago, my Grandpa was offered a position in the choir, but he was temple president of the LA temple at the time and couldn't move to Utah. SO he and his brother got to practice with the choir that evening and we all got to watch. Awesome.
He's on the bottom left and his brother bottom right.
Go Packards!

  1. I've been waiting for this post and almost missed it. I can totally relate about the family, but at the same time, like you said it's so much fun at the same time. I love catching up with you guys and was bummed because I haven't been able to see most of the cuz's our age in yrs with having kids days before the reunion and moving away. It looks like you had a great time and it was so cool the you got to see Grandpa in the temple. Is his alzheimers (sp?) getting worse fast?
I'm so proud of you for your race. That fall looked like a good one, but at least you won first for it. Didn't you just start biking when you got married too? Sounds like a fast start.
