Officially Old

Steve turned 25! WooHoo! Talk about old. Now seriously. I'm 25, so I can say this: 25 is really the beginning of being old. You might remember my mini-mid-life crisis I had when I turned 25, and I feel that for Steve. I used to have a young husband, so it was tolerable and evened out my old-factor...but NOW....well, now we're both old! It's OK cuz he's cute :)

Grilling up some brown sugar pineapple, pound cake, ice cream and rum caramel sauce
(don't worry mom, it was just rum extract)
♥ you all! Thank you so much for coming!!!
So our plan for the weekend was to head down to Moab to bike and camp all weekend, then head to Salt Lake the next day. So 2 miles into our first bike ride, my rear shifter breaks. Awesome. I won't say who broke it because we're celebrating his birthday this post so we'll be nice right? Right. So we go to 4 bike shops in Moab looking for the part, but to no avail. It was supposed to be 96 degrees that day, so we grab some lunch and think it would be amazing to sit by the local pool and enjoy some warmth and sun for the first time that year. Is there a sparkling pool surrounded by Moab's green park awaiting us like usual? No. Construction had torn up EVERYTHING. Poopy. So we decide to lay out on the grass anyway, plan for a movie to kill time before setting up camp so we can AT LEAST camp. We head to the theater and stare at a sign that says "No afternoon movies except Saturdays and Sundays." Really poopy. We threw the towel in and decided to leave. On our way out we thought we'd do ONE thing we ACTUALLY WANTED to do and got ourselves some good 'ole snowcones. Mmm delish!
After we drove 7 hours that day and arrived back home, we headed up the canyon and grilled the steaks and starbursts we had already prepared. And Baked Lays.
Oh those have a special place in my heart. Get them, you won't regret it.
The next day we went downtown to Christopher's Steakhouse where my eyes rolled in back of my head after the first bite of my blue cheese portabello mushroom filet mignon
(sign up for their birthday club online and they give you a free entree)
and saw Iron Man 2 (um Robert Downey Jr. is the cockiest fool I've ever seen-highly entertaining)
the cupcakes I made my little white (and faithful thank you) Tiger
Happy 25th to the best boyfriend ever!

  5. Happy belated birthday. That sucks that all of your plans got blown apart. I don't remember hearing about what bike run you're doing, what's it called? It's sad that Janene is moving away with her busband, you guys seem really close. I didn't recognize her at first with her bangs. In those pictures of you guys on the mountain, you both could be fitness models, you're so tan and active/fit looking. That's my dream body and I hope I get closer to it as I get more and more into training for this half marathon.
