Gettin Back To My Roots, Demolition Derby Style

What is a Demolition Derby some of you may ask? WELL....let me tell you....it was one of the best nights of our life!!! (OK, not really, but pretty close :) What more could you want than old junk cars revving their engines full speed at each other, motors on fire, the smell of burning rubber and funnel cakes, good 'ole Southern company, and cars crashing over concrete barriers?!?! I submit nothing. Nothing my friends.

So rad. Loved every minute of it. We found ourselves on our feet, yelling and screaming for the cars to ram each other harder, explode, roll over, or all of the above. Love Love Love it.

In other thrilling Anderson news, I am still husbandless most days as Steve is busy drowning himself in OAT study materials, the library, my brother-in-law and his other friend who are taking the DAT, and his laptop taking practice tests. Exhibit A:

Our trip to California next week has been our savior in getting us through this separation. Boo. I've wanted to go at the end of the summer for MONTHS and MONTHS now, but he needed more convincing. A few weeks ago, being the overzealous applicant that he is, he was reading up and discovered that in order to have an edge on other applicants, the dean of admissions highly recommends having visited the campus and having a basic knowledge of the school and area. BOOM!!!!! My key in to a relaxing and sunny road trip to California! Woohoo!!! He's worked so hard, I'm excited for it to be over.

We also love our darling nephew,

and yay for ice cream.

With all of this grad school business, we've had A LOT of expenses, combined with tuition and several other expenses. At times, we've had to cut back on any frivolous spending in hope that we would have enough. Time and time again, we have been blessed with new sources of income, things we have sold, extra shifts for me at the hospital, and numberless other things. We feel so blessed and loved by our Heavenly Father for everything we have, especially and mainly each other and the amazing past year we've spent together. We love you friends and family and wish we could see more of those who are out of state. Your support and love means everything and are so grateful to have you in our lives!
